Are the paintings framed? The paintings are not framed. Frames are a very important part of the paintings as a whole and as such, I believe it’s important each person has the flexibility to choose the best frame for their needs. Frames physically protect the edges of the canvas or panel, preserving the painting by acting as a barrier between the painting and potential contaminants such as dust, dirt, and moisture. Can enhance the visual appeal of a painting by providing a decorative border that complements the artwork. They can also help to focus the viewer's attention on the painting itself. In summary, the right frame can enhance the overall presentation of the artwork, adding to its aesthetic value and making it more suitable for display in various settings, such as galleries, homes, or offices.

I got a painting and it looks different than in the websiteLightning plays a crucial part with paintings. The pictures you see in the website are the best representation that I could do to capture the essence of the painting in normal lighting conditions. Rooms with direct sunlight or specific artificial lightning can affect the way it looks, the glare and even make it look warmer or cooler.

Do you varnish the paintings?Yes. All paintings shown in the website have been varnished to protect and preserve them.

What is the difference between the supports you offer?I use a variety of supports and they can certainly be confusing. I will describe what they are so that you understand the difference and if you get a painting, you know exactly what to expect. Acrylic sheet: Acrylic sheets are rigid, providing a solid and flat surface for painting. They do not have the flexibility of canvas pads but are similar to canvas panels in terms of stability. Canvas pad: A canvas pad consists of sheets of canvas that are bound together, similar to a sketchpad. Each sheet is typically primed and ready for painting Canvas panel: Are rigid and generally about 1/8" thick. Linen panel: Similar to a canvas panel, is a rigid support (1/8" thick) but made of linen which typically is higher quality Wood panel: Wood panels provide a smooth and rigid surface for painting. The texture of the wood can vary depending on the type of wood used, but it generally offers a different tactile experience compared to canvas. The ones I use are generally 1/4" unless otherwise specified. Canvas: This is the "traditional" stretched canvas mounted on a wood frame, which ranges between 0.75"-1.5" thick. Understanding the support of your painting is important as it was multiple considerations such as archival purposes, techniques used, durability as well as aesthetics. Is not the same how you will frame a painting in an acrylic sheet or canvas pad vs. a Stretched canvas or a wood Panel. If you have any specific or additional question to the surface of a painting you are interested, please let me know through the Contact section. I want to make sure you have all the information you need to make an informed decision.

What should I consider if I want to commission a painting? There are many factors for your consideration. Below are some general questions you need to ask yourself: Subject. What subject do I want to have painted? A family member? A pet? The house where I grew up? Size. Do I want a small painting to place on a table or a bigger 36”x 48” for the wall? Palette. What color/s would I like to have in the painting? Atmosphere. Would the painting be warm and joyful or darker and quieter? Composition. What object/s do I want around my subject? What do I want to emphasize in the painting? This is of course only the beginning. But by considering these factors and providing clear guidance to me, you can ensure that the commissioned painting meets your expectations and reflects your vision accurately. Communication is key throughout the process to ensure that both you and I are on the same page and working towards a shared goal.

How is the process of commissioning a painting? It starts with a simple note to me explaining what’s on your mind. I will guide to shape the idea into something more tangible and once that is achieved we keep refining it, iterating more ideas until we are both satisfied and have a common understanding. We’ll discuss your budget, your timeline and based on that we will record the agreement in a contract. There will be constant feedback and collaboration throughout the entire process to ensure that the final artwork meets and exceeds your expectations.

You are an oil painter but some paintings were done with acrylics. Why?Good observation! Many years ago when I started this journey, I used acrylics. I painted for many years and I think it was a great idea to start with such a flexible medium. Over time I transitioned to Oils as I was curious about it and ended up loving it. That’s why I do now, just oils and no more acrylics.
